I've been out of the loop for awhile, so please forgive me if this has already been discussed...
First let me say that I never use the accelerator keys to navigate menus. I have nothing against the feature, I just don't use it. I would like to be able to assign keys in the keymap that use the ALT-something keystrokes and have them override the accelerator keys. This comes to my attention because in the last build I was using (513) I had mapped Alt-U to 'Find Usages'. As long as the focus was on the editor, it worked fine (overriding the Alt-U for the 'Run' menu). Since I started using build 523, this no longer works for me. Alt-U now invokes the Run menu, regardless of the focus on the editor. Was this an accident? I certainly understand the accessibility features and the desire to not map function to the same keys as the menus as a product decision. But why can I no longer override this behavior if I choose?
