There is a 'bug' where IDEA refuses to recognize
corrupted JAR files in it's path.
For instance, developers commonly forget to use the
binary flag when committing .JAR files to a CVS repository (third-party
libraries) and these files are then corrupted upon update/checkout. IDEA tries
to load these, fails, and then fails to show these files in the various file
choosers (add to CLASSPATH, particularly). A better approach would be to show a
'broken' JAR icon.
