This sounds related to the line jumping that happens when stepping through
code in the debugger. It annoys me, too.

When debugging a short for loop (5-10 lines), the source code is jockeyed
around so that the current line is always brought up to the "magic point".
(What is that point, the top third of the display window?)

I'd vote for moving the source window ONLY when the next target (line in the
debugger, or find next occurrence) is off-screen (even a little).

Subject: [Eap-list] Find text behavior

It it a bit annoying actual "Find text" behavior
inside the editor:
when it is looking for next occurrence,
and the next occurence is already visible
in the editor viewport, it scrolls to center
the next occurrence in the middle of the viewport,
causing me to lose the "positioning" inside the file.
It would be better (for me) if it highlites the next
occurrence where it is, without scrolling.
