We have problems remote debugging Weblogic applications as well. This is not restricted to IDEA but also happens with JBuilder, so I think it might be Weblogic related. Sometimes breakpoints don't work an just today I had a very strange problem. Starting Weblogic the usual way works okay. Putting the debug options like -Xdebug in the start script (nothing else changed) makes Weblogic fail with ClassNotFound exceptions in our beans!
Never had such problems with Orion application server for example, so I guess there is some strange stuff going on in Weblogic.
