I agree that total error checking is too much.  But adding better checking for missing 
semi-colon & parenthesis would be great.  Beyond that, I don't find very many 
errors, or they are somewhat infrequent, and having the compiler check them is 
fine.  

I suppose for me it would be a time / bloat trade off.  If IDEA can do this without 
the 
intellij guys spending a tremendous amount of time, or bloating IDEA such that I 
need to upgrade my computer to run it, then put as much in as you want.
