Hello,

a really problem is, if an application (here IDEA) hangs in a dead-lock. If 
the console is open, you can press CTRL-Break (?) to get a thread-dump. If 
the application runs without a console, there is no possibility to get a 
thread-dump - at least I don't know of any. Reporting everything in a 
log-file could not help there, too.
