I ran into a somewhat similar issue in the past, see http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4408491.html.

When it calls System.in.read() (as opposed to when I comment out that line), the app freezes. This does not happen when it is run from the command line (using the same command as IDEA). It is independent of java vs. javaw, and happens in different places (if I manage to debug it up to a certain call, then comment that out, it freezes elsewhere). I suspect there may be issues with how the streams and the Process class are handled. Anyone have experience with this? -- Erb ============================================================== "The only time I like in the morning is afternoon." - Russell D.
