Win2k, sp2, JDK 1.3.1_02
I entered a bogus tag for the diff command and IDEA told me "the files are
identical".
The CVS console showed this, however:
C:\Program Files\WinCvs\cvs.exe diff -r 382.34.2343..34.34.34.34
Spinner.java
cvs server: tag 382.34.2343..34.34.34.34 is not in file Spinner.java
I first tried it with an almost valid revision number and was surprised to
see the files were identical. I entered 1.19.01 instead of 1.19.0.1. IDEA
should parse the error messages from the cvs client and not assume that no
diff information means the files match. Without the console up, a user can
erroneously assume the diff worked properly.

PS: Thanks again for the killer tool -- I can't wait to see what Ariadna
looks like! A colleague of mine (Arun Batchu - on this list) and I gave a
presentation of IDEA to the local Object Technology User's Group in
Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota and it was very well receieved. We found
ourselves anwering many questions with "wait for Ariadna -- its in there!"
