I agree that improving the hierarchy view could do the job. In fact, ArgoUML has a feature which is basically all I need. There is a view which is similar to IDEAS Source view in package hierarchy mode, which you can also switch to inheritance hierarchy mode, where all classes are shown hierarchically according to their inheritance relationships. I am not sure that this would be best implemented as an extension of the source view. As it is today, the hierarchy view - along with the "commander" - is one of the views I almost never use.
