Hmmm, I was under the impression that all clicking the trash can icon did
was invoke System.gc().  Is this not the case?

Michael...thanks for the info...it is useful.  However, I
now realize I implied the wrong garbage collection.

I meant to refer to Idea's memory cleanup (the trashcan
on the lower right).  Once memory usage gets high, Idea
slows down for me (I do have 1 Gig of memory) until
that memory usage is cleaned up.  If I could state
to Idea when to go ahead and clean up some memory, hopefully the slowdowns
(they aren't all that often) wouldn't occur.
