I don't think it should be the 'endless list' implementation, but rather just the ability to scroll past top and bottom. In other words, pressing arrow up at the top would reposition the selection at the bottom of the list, and vice versa. <Home> and <End> would still make sense, the scroll bar would still be meaningful, and we laptop users would not have to switch between using different awkward parts of the keyboard for navigation.

No, I don't think like this rfe. Simply pressing "End" does the same. But
in the current solution I know, that a is on the top and z on the bottom.
If it would scroll around, I would not know anymore, where I am. <Home> and
<End> would not make very much sense any more. And, last but not least,
currently the scrollbar allows me to scroll around, in the suggested
endless list there would not be a useful scrollbar anymore.
