How about letting users decide?
If you create a property under the IDE Options that allows users to
configure this based on their
own needs or preferences, wouldnt that end the argument?

The default may very well be that Javadoc errors are highlighted in red, but
allowing the user to configure this gives them the flexibility to work in
whatever manner they might want to.

I personally think they should be highlighted as errors.

However I dont think any tool should try to impose a constraint such as this
on developers because it may well turn them away from using it which was
mentioned by someone earlier in this discussion. Given that the crux of this
debate is very subjective and based on each of our own preferences i think
the solution should reflect that and leave it to the user to decide. I think
the best way to do that would be to offer it as a configurable option - a
checkbox to ask the user whether Ariadna should highlight javadoc errors as
errors.
