Yep, fair point. The IDEA lists generate a lot of traffic however, and 
having waded through endless JDK 1.4 questions on other lists 
(apple-java to be specific), I'm developing a very short fuse and a knee 
jerk reaction towards anything with '1.4' in it. I apologise for my 
harsh tone, kind of. The idea (no pun intended) behind it is that it'd 
force people to think a bit more before posting!

It's quite alright, if I'm harsh, it's only fair that you're harsh in 
response!

Heh, this is the sentence that inspired me to actually respond! I'd like 
to respond with a big fat NO! You do in theory have the right to ask 
stupid questions on any mailing list, others on the list equally have 
the right to point out what a stupid question it is. Contrary to popular 
belief, there IS such a thing as stupid questions, and often, not asking 
is a far superior course of action to asking.
