This can be because of make now recognizes more dependencies :-).
Please add the following:

 <category name="com.intellij.compiler">
   <priority value="DEBUG" />
    <appender-ref ref="CONSOLE-ALL"/>
 </category>

to the log.xml file found in IDEA's "bin" directory.
The logging is done both to console and the <idea-home>/log/idea.log file.
Please send me the log file for examination.
As for RMI stubs, thanks for pointing to the problem - we'll think how to
solve this.
