What? 612 is the fastest ever idea!

OS: NT4.0, 1Ghz Pentium III, 380 MB RAM, IDE disks
OS2: W2K server, 700Mhz Thunderbird, 512 MB RAM, IDE disks
I came to a point, when I have to say:
"Slow down new features, speed up the IDE"
It is getting terribly slow. I have problems with typing characters, redraws
of menus, redraws of views (EJB/project/structure etc) and with startup. I
also experience problems with memory (already posted).
On the W2K I cannot use IDEA at all - it is too slow for anything
On NT it is worse and worse with every build.
Please try to focus on the speed of the environment too.
