It would also be helpful when writing html,xml and jsp's.

Don't be so close minded Hani. Just because you would not use the feature 
does not mean it is not a valid one. I do not want it to be on all of the 
time like in word. I think it could be part of the code analysis functions.

Programming, in the strictest sense, may not be word processing, but writing
comments and JavaDoc certainly qualifies. If IDEA can help me write code
that I would not be embarassed of, why not help me do the same with
comments?

I have used other products that allow you to spell check comments and 
quoted strings.

Could IntelliJ put this on the TODO list ?
