Having the blue line always on breaks my notion of editor messaging on the left and right sides and makes the editor too busy for me especially given that is is not just a small object but can be a long line. When there is an icon or such on the sides of the editor, I like it to be something that needs my attention that either I put there (such as a breakpoint, bookmark, or highlights of variable usages) or that the system put there (unresolved symbol, an unused variable or method, and so on). The blue line always on breaks this metaphor. Perhaps you could make it an option (like "Mark overidding methods" in Editor > Display) for those who prefer it always on between the braces versus those who prefer only when on the brace itself during highlighting of braces.Hi,
I have also noticed a slowdown in Build 616. (Win2000,JDK1.3.1_03).
And i have also noticed (don't know how it was in version pre 616)
that in 616 there is always! a blue line on the left side of the editor
that shows the scope? for my actual cursor-position.
I think in older versions the blue line only appaered whe the cursors was direct
after a brace.
I don't see the additional use of always showing the scope.
Thanks,
Jon
