Maybe your problem is the same one I posted on April 12th? The way you can tell it is the same bug is if you have a different class open in another tab. If switching to the tab of the other file makes the editor window focusable, then it is likely the same bug. Since posting, I've tried with 1.3.1_03 and the problem remains. I haven't yet noticed a post from IntelliJ about the problem.
After I do an inline of a private method, the editor is in a broken state for the refactored file. The cursor is visible in the editor and the editor responds to the mouse but not to the keyboard. All of the functions on the toolbar related to editing the refactored class are disabled. To get out of the state I have to switch editing to a different file, then switch back. I've noticed this braindead editor state before on other activities (maybe just other refactorings?) but I was able to pin it down today as happening consistently on the inlining of a simple private method. This is build 616, JDK 1.3.1_02, WindowsXP.What operating system and IDEA build are you using?

I had that problem where I am unable to transfer focus from the debugger window to the
editor window. I know you asked me to provide more input when such a thing occurs, but I'm
not sure what else I can do.
I'm runing jdk1.3.1_02, should I upgrade to _03?
