Are you using tab's or spaces? If you are using spaces, and print with a non-proportional font, it will look very ugly (particularly if there are tabs intermixed).
I would prefer a "substitute spaces for tabs" feature within the printing dialogue, so those that prefer spaces to tabs can still print. For a while, I was reformatting my spaces to tabs and printing, and then formatting back...But it became too much a hassle, so I switched over to using tabs.
