Hello,
I'm a happy IntelliJ user. I've started test-driving Ariadna and there's a
lot of nice new features. But being a customer, I'm never fully happy. :-)
So I'm submitting a of a few things that I'd like to see added to IJ. Note
that I'm a longtime Netbeans user and I sometimes switch between NB and IJ
because one has features that the other doesn't. So here are a few features
that Netbeans has which I would like to see in IJ also:
- More templates for creating new classes. NB allows me to create a new
Interface, an new Class, a new Junit-based class, a new servlet, etc. When
it does so, it creates all of the required methods which are needed to
implement the appropriate interface. I miss that in IJ.
- When selecting a path in the file browser (for example, when adding a
path) I would like to be able to use my keyboard. Often, only the mouse is
usable and it hinders *my* productivity.
- I find it cumbersome to have to add a new path in both the source path and
the class path. One thing that would be interesting would be to be able to
select a directory and in the popup, say if it should be in the
sourcepath, classpath, etc. Basically, work with the directory without
needing to go to the Project options screen.
- With NB's Junit module, it's possible to select a class and tell the IDE
to generate a test class from the original class. The generated method
automatically contains testXXX methods for existing methods in the class.
Nice feature.
It's a cool IDE, nevertheless!
