I have a simular problem, e.g. after checkout from ClearCase the sourcefile in the editor will not react to any keystroke. Fortunately the keys do not seem to be typed into another file... It helps to close and reopen the file.

Try running IDEA on 1.3.1_03 instead of _1 or _2 which you are probably using now. Hope this helps.
