The demo examples provide some very good basics on CGIDEV2 programming. As far
as writing the code on the ISeries side it is not that difficult at all. HTML
and JavaScript may take some time to understand and become accomplished at, but
the CGIDEV2 model of externally defined HTML you will see is very easy, once
you understand the HTML side. The biggest difference to understand is the
stateless nature of programming for a browser. It requires some extra thought
when building the application as far as keeping the necessary information
between browser requests. Again, I would download the toolkit install it and go
with the examples from there. I have not read Brad Stone's book, but I think
from reading other posts here that it is more for CGIDEV not CGIDEV2, but I
could be mistaken. There are some better and more efficient features in CGIDEV2
than there were for CGIDEV.
