I'm an AS/400 RPG programmer (of 6 years) and want to see if I can
start working on converting (as a hobbie) our existing software into
a web application. We currently have an Easy/400 CGI web developer
on our site who has installed the CGIDEV toolkit on our system.
However, everytime I mention wanting to get into this type of
development, his attitude changes a bit and he seems to be very
tight lipped about letting met get to the tutorial (big fish in a
little pond syndrome?). I do not have QSECOFR authority on our box,
but i do have *ALLOBJ aut as I am a developer. According to the
instructions on loading the tutorial, I have to be QSECOFR in order
to run some type of service program (or something, not too sure what
that's about yet). I'm not really looking for a way to deal with
getting QSECOFR access or sweet talking our CGI developer into
letting me run the tutorial. My questions are:

1. Is there a way to go through the tutorial without having to
install anything on the AS/400?

2. How can I install the tutorial on our AS/400 without QSECOFR
access?

3. Will me installing the tutorial interfere with our current CGI
developers settings/libraries?

Any help you can provide on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
