I was using a stock provided example which seems to have "name" defined; see:

$ ls -l p/ParMETIS/ParMETIS-4.0.2-goalf-1.1.0-no-OFED.eb
-rw-r--r-- 1 fgeorgatos clusterusers 1206 Jun  3 12:31
p/ParMETIS/ParMETIS-4.0.2-goalf-1.1.0-no-OFED.eb
$ md5sum !$
md5sum p/ParMETIS/ParMETIS-4.0.2-goalf-1.1.0-no-OFED.eb
c51eaecfa3e69cec0d7b19377294aba2
p/ParMETIS/ParMETIS-4.0.2-goalf-1.1.0-no-OFED.eb
$ grep ^name !$
grep ^name p/ParMETIS/ParMETIS-4.0.2-goalf-1.1.0-no-OFED.eb
name='ParMETIS'

Do I suspect correctly incompatibility across versions and easyconfigs?

I'd say don't bother too much with debugging that last one though,
maybe just state which combination of (perhaps beta) code & easyconfigs
is the most rich in build-able examples at this point and I'll try it.

OK then, should I expect the latest git checkout to work fine with that one?
I'll be trying it on Monday if yes.

Not only it does work great, I've already set it up & tested in production
(& it'll become available as soon as MODULEPATH gets its fix at global level).

btw.
I'm around BRU again this weekend. If available, send a PM. Alternatively,
