(I'm CC-ing some lists where Hashdist has been discussed; unless asked otherwise I'll keep announcements to the Hashdist list in the future.)

We're proud to announce Hashdist v0.1 and an accompanying tutorial.

The intention of this release is not for people to use it in
production, but to solicit input for further development. I am
currently funded to work full-time on Hashdist; 2.5 weeks has been
spent so far out of 8 weeks total, so this is a good time to influence
the direction of the project. We do not want to re-invent more of the wheel than strictly necessary and seek cooperation with similar projects.

People digging in and reviewing the code would be greatly appreciated too (mainly hashdist/core/ and hashdist/cli/ at this point).
