Hello EasyBuilders,

We're proud to announce the release of EasyBuild v1.4.0, our best release so
far! ;-)

A couple of highlights:

- the framework now includes support for Clang-based and CUDA-enabled compiler
toolchains; GROMACS was used as a proof-of-concept for the CUDA support
- a bug that broke the EasyBuild bootstrap procedure and building of Python
packages on Ubuntu and OS X (for example) was resolved (next to other more
minor issues)
- support for building Clang, Perl, and multiple other new software packages
(20 in total) was added; support for installing Perl modules 'stand-alone'
(cfr. BioPerl) is now also available

The Clang support was contributed by Dmitri Gribenko (NTUU "KPI"), who we
warmly welcome to the EasyBuild community.
The CUDA support was implemented based on information and feedback provided by
Adam DeConinck (NVIDIA), thank you Adam!

EasyBuild v1.4.0 is available via the usual channels [1][2]. Enjoy!

regards,

Kenneth
