Hello EasyBuilders, We are proud to announce the release of EasyBuild v1.8.0, our best release yet (as usual).
This release is a major milestone, because it includes support for custom module naming schemes, a feature that should allow newcomers to make the switch to EasyBuild more easily. More details are available in the EasyBuild framework release notes [1], and on the documentation wiki [2]. I'm still puzzling together the results of the regression test for EasyBuild v1.8.0 [3], but I should already mention one of the software packages builds (PSI) failed because of a known bug [4]. The issue came forward too late to comfortably fix the problem without delaying the release. We deemed releasing as scheduled more important. EasyBuild v1.8.0 features support for 338 different software packages (+ 25 compiler toolchains), includes 1,699 example easyconfig files, and is now available via GitHub [5] and PyPi [6]. Enjoy!
