Hi Adam,
One of the attendees during the EasyBuild hackathon at JSC last week
looked into this, and managed to get a long way. Basically, he made it
work, with a couple of hacks.

There are some issues that will need to be resolved in the EasyBuild
framework to make it fully supported properly though, but workarounds
are available.
We'll look into resolving the open problems ASAP.
