trying to build over afs is, eh, an adventurous path;
in fact, _I_ treat all distributed/parallel filesystems with much suspicion,
and always force my builds on /tmp (sure, you are still vulnerable at the
install step).
Also, I notice a string GCC-4.7.3.1 ... weird version number there, but
whatever...
Now, give a try at this one and go for the differential debugging rounds:
EASYBUILD_BUILDPATH=/tmp time eb OpenMPI-1.7.3-GCC-4.8.2.eb
--try-toochain=GCC,4.7.3 --try-software-version=1.7.4
if need be, provide the full path to that easyconfig, which is a tested
known-to-work one.
Hint: you really should try recursive builds on goolf items, this is how to get
started nicely.
enjoy,
Fotis
