Thinking aloud.. I see an unzip in there.. changing subject: I’d see it as a big win to consider the binary of p7zip as a builddep of most easyconfigs that need it, to get away with an array of issues seen before, and deterministically extract any .zip _and_ .iso files. (ref: http://github.com/hpcugent/easybuild-easyconfigs/pull/234/files) It may actually permit for a non-GCC escape path when the underlying OS is sardonically scarce on common binaries for unpacking. OTOH, I recognise that there is a concern in relation to arch. dependencies which is a counter-argument and may invite for alternative solutions.
