I'm not sure exactly what the situation is with MVAPICH but I know that with the MPI version that we use (ParaStation MPI, which like MVAPICH is also based on MPICH) the libraries generated by the install have changed with the move to MPI 3.0. You just need to update the easyconfig so that it checks for the correct libraries (after you verify what the correct libraries are ;) ).
