I will try some workarounds while there is a fix for the libpng. What you say makes sense. The issue arise when I try to install packages. At a certain point the installation of a package complains about libz not being available. I guess that libpng depends on libz, so if the former is not loaded by easybuild, the latter isn't either, or a too old version is available. Maybe I'll provide better diagnostic ;) I confirm that X and png capabilities are not linked. I was asking because all the easyconfig files I saw had --with-x=no, so I was wondering why that was. I am not sure I currently fully understand your answer, but at least I have a direction to understand that. Thanks a lot! Stefano
