Yes, the idea is to do it bi-weekly. I've tried sticking to that

That's a good idea. In fact, I'm checking whether it's feasible to do a
conf call *during* the EB/Lmod hackathon @ TACC this week.
Thursday morning in Austin (e.g. 10am local time, which would be 5pm
CEST) may be possible...
I'm pretty flexible generally, but making them predictable probably
makes things easier. Biggest problem is time I think to cover a
reasonable set of timezones.
So lets try to set the next three or so now and talk about making them
predictable
Tentatively:
Thu Nov 12th 2015, 5pm CEST (10am Austin time, during the EB/Lmod
hackathon) [TO BE CONFIRMED]
Wed Nov 25h 2015, 5pm CEST
Wed Dec 9th 2015, 5pm CEST
Two weeks later than Dec 9th is probably too close to Christmas to be
worthwhile, so the next one would be early 2016 (e.g. Wed Jan 6th)
I'm open to comments/suggestions, like changing the time to adher to
other time zones every now and then.
If these dates are OK (or if there is no response with
comments/suggestions to change them), I'll create events for these in
the Google+ community we use for the conf calls.
So, if you're interested to join a conf call in the future, make sure
you're a member of that Google+ community

I'm very much in favor of this, the way in which conf calls have
been planned / reminded recently is definitely not good enough,
I'm happy to admit that.
The Google+ group for the EB conf calls supports events, we should
plan them way ahead (like, at the end of the conf call, or right
after).
You can probably specify when to send reminders as well.
