Dear EasyBuilders,

As many of you are already aware of, several non-trivial changes have been made to the install procedure of the 2016.* versions of the Intel tools.

This is not the first time that changes like this are being made (cfr. the version checks in the relevant easyblocks), but it seems that the changes are significant enough this time to require some figuring out to get a clear view on things.

We briefly discussed this during today's EasyBuild conf call, but I felt it would be useful to set up a dedicated conf call on this issue.

The intention is to:

* get an overview of the efforts people have made so far, both in figuring things out and patching easyblocks/easyconfigs (we have a couple of open PRs already) * determine which changes should be made in the upcoming EasyBuild v2.5.0 to the relevant easyblocks/easyconfigs in order to support the 2016.* versions of the Intel tools * figure out what needs to be done, and who does what (pull requests, testing, reviewing)

I plan to make sure that the 2016.* versions of the Intel tools can install properly with EasyBuild v2.5.0 (which is just a couple of weeks away!).

If you would like to get involved, please fill out the doodle below (by Fri Nov 27th, noon CET) so we can plan a conf call dedicated to this.

In addition, please let us know what kind of efforts you have done so far via https://github.com/hpcugent/easybuild-easyblocks/issues/751 ('none yet' is a valid answer here, for now ;-)).

regards,

Kenneth
