Hi,
does anyone know of a source (or any kind of indication) how many of
the top500 are using Easybuild?
I have no idea, but I'd guess it's a rather low ratio for now.
Adoption on big systems happens slowly...
My guess: a handful. But I maybe wrong, it may be two hands full. :P
Or maybe an indication in terms how many are using environment modules?
Some recent numbers on this are at

.
Short answer: over 80% of sites use environment modules, probably close
to 90%.
Also any indication how many people are using it or maybe some
"large-ish well known" entities that you know of and have sources to
link to.
Jülich Supercomputer Centre is using EasyBuild+Lmod on their new
production Linux/x86_64 cluster JURECA, this one:
http://www.fz-juelich.de/SharedDocs/Pressemitteilungen/UK/EN/2015/15-11-16supercomputer.html?nn=362372
.
CSCS is also using it on a couple of their (Cray) systems.
The people behind that are on the list too, they can provide more info.
I've been wanted to compose an overview of sites using it on production
systems for a while, but I never got to it.
Maybe this is a good time?
We'd have to organize it a bit though, i.e. not spam via the ML, but
maybe set up a GitHub issue, that specifies some basic info we would
like to get on the system(s) where EB is being used.

Kenneth
I'm trying to sell this to management at a current client and these
kind of numbers are always nice to have on slide decks.
I'm happy to use as much input as possible and will try to at least
consolidate the numbers if I'm not allowed to publish the slide deck.
