Hi all,

I sent this to the Spack list but it’s just as relevant here on the EB list.

Ian Lee at LLNL is working with GitHub to put together a showcase of HPC
software. Here are some existing showcases:

                http://github.com/showcases/

Showcases are basically curated lists of interesting open source repositories
in particular areas. Note that they need to be repositories *on GitHub*. The
showcases also tend to be sorted by GitHub stars. Here’s the showcase for
“science”, if you’re looking for an example:

                https://github.com/showcases/science

I figure we have a lot of people who develop HPC open source projects on the
EasyBuild list. If you are interested in having your project in this showcase,
or if you can suggest projects to be on the list, get in touch with Ian at
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>.

Also, please feel free to forward this widely!

-Todd

Subject: Open Source HPC Software
Hi All —

I’m working with GitHub on putting together a showcase
(https://github.com/showcases) of open source software used in HPC specifically.

I obviously know about the projects that we produce
(software.llnl.gov<http://software.llnl.gov>) but are there others from other
labs and or vendors that should be highlighted? If you can send me a list of
recommendations, that would be great, and we can get some spotlight on the HPC
open source offerings.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

~ Ian Lee
