Dear EasyBuilders,

I'm happy to announce the release of EasyBuild version 3.2.0 [1].
<insert whitty comment about this being the best EasyBuild release ever here>

Highlights of this release include:

* support for customising easyconfig parameters on a per-extension basis * support for marking install modules as new default via --set-default-module * additional easyconfig parameters related to documentation (docpaths, examples, site_contacts, upstream_contacts, usage) * support for checking whether easyconfig filenames match with contents via --verify-easyconfig-filenames * verbose warning messages in case deprecated functionality is being triggered

    * custom easyblocks for Doris, VMD and WRF-Fire
* enhanced easyblock for TBB to support installation of open source versions

* support for 34 new software packages, incl. ClusterShell, Doris, Spack, StaMPS, VMD, WRF-Fire * updated easyconfigs for GCC 7.1.0, LLVM 4.0.0, OpenMPI 2.1.0, Python 2.7.13 & 3.6.1 (incl. numpy 1.12.1, scipy 0.19.0), R 3.3.3, etc.

This brings the total number of supported software packages to 1,216 [2]!
A detailed overview of all changes is available in the release notes [3].

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this release in one way or another!

To upgrade to EasyBuild v3.2.0, there are several options, see [4].
Two particularly easy options include:

* eb --install-latest-eb-release # requires EasyBuild v2.9.0 or more recent

    * eb --from-pr 4548               # use easyconfig from PR #4548 [5]

Enjoy!

regards,

Kenneth (a.k.a. boegel)
