Dear EasyBuilders,

I'm happy to announce the release of EasyBuild version 3.5.1 [1].
This release is so good that evil pixies try to prevent it from being released by causing a major outage at Travis CI, but they had to give up eventually!

This is primarily a bugfix/update release, but also includes a couple of minor enhancements.
Highlights include:

    * support for using Environment Modules v4.0 as modules tool

    * inclusion of the foss/2018a and intel/2018a toolchain definitions

    * updated easyblocks for BamTools, OpenBabel, Qt, ...

    * support for 26 new software packages, incl. deepTools, NextGenMap, PIMS, QUAST, ...

    * updates for already supported software,
       incl. BamTools 2.5.0, Boost 1.66.0, Clang 5.0.0, GROMACS 2016.4, PLUMED 2.4.0, Pillow 5.0.0, QuantumESPRESSO 6.2, Ruby 2.5.0, ...

    * various minor bug fixes & enhancements

This brings the total number of supported software packages to 1,372 [2]!
A detailed overview of all changes is available in the release notes [3].

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this release in one way or another!

To upgrade to EasyBuild v3.5.1, there are several options, see [4].
Two particularly easy options include:

    * eb --install-latest-eb-release  # requires EasyBuild v3.3.0 or more recent

    * eb --from-pr 5661                  # use easyconfig from PR #5661 [5]

(EasyBuild v3.3.0 is required for --install-latest-eb-release because support for SHA256 checksums is required)

Enjoy!

regards,

Kenneth (a.k.a. boegel)
