Hi,

I am trying to catch up with a couple of EasyBuild developments. Regarding a
recommended toolchain for gcc, cuda and MPI use, do we now have a standard?

We currently have

fosscuda and goolfc

both of which seem (at least superficially) to do the same (GCC, Cuda,
Cuda-aware OpenMPI, CPU FFTW and CPU OpenBLAS) and both had recent developments
(last 4 month). Could someone fill me in please?

In understand the confusion here, we're sort of transitioning to 'fosscuda' and that's a hopefully clearer toolchain name than 'goolfc'.

The intention with 'fosscuda' is to stay close to the 'foss' common toolchain, and just add CUDA to the mix.

That will require making sure that'll work w.r.t. the (very recent) GCC version being used in the 'foss' toolchain though, since CUDA tends to lag a bit w.r.t. supporting the most recent GCC versions...

I'll let others (in particular Åke & Davide) chip in for further clarification...

Kenneth
