I will build for foss-2019a for the PR. I have merged the module updates from
3.5.1 with my PR for 3.5.3 (which you should accept), but will check again if
new modules have been added. The R-devel from Monday built on foss-2018b
without issue and I expect the Friday release to be very close to what I built
on Monday.

First of all, thanks a lot for looking into this!

I think you should only submit a PR for R 3.6.0 using the foss/2019a
toolchain, since we stick to a single version of R per toolchain
    generation in the central repository.

Also make sure you're using the latest R easyconfigs from the develop
branch (which is R 3.5.1 currently, see

https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__github.com_easybuilders_easybuild-2Deasyconfigs_blob_develop_easybuild_easyconfigs_r_R_R-2D3.5.1-2Dfoss-2D2018b.eb&d=DwIDaQ&c=eRAMFD45gAfqt84VtBcfhQ&r=3TR-iteG1SyRqQ5yubQg-_2KIAToz9bj5dZrRdW36Hc&m=pXx2DA0xe2kDkU3cRPbCcQen72OE9tFmMJwQRGIUdpg&s=e_Qq7qLAeaPU0BeijyiqguKMgEKmWngPLYcIAbji-7A&e=),

since we add some extensions to the latest R easyconfigs from time to
    time...

    regards,

    Kenneth
