Dear EasyBuilders,

This is a friendly reminder to *register* for the EasyBuild User Meeting if you're planning to (virtually) attend (some of) the sessions next week.

Only registered people will be able to join the Zoom sessions and interact with the speakers and other attendees.

Full agenda is available at https://easybuild.io/eum/ .

Note that there's a separate registration for the CernVM-FS and ReFrame tutorials, which have limited seats due to resources that will be provided for the hands-on parts.

regards,

Kenneth

Dear EasyBuilders,

I'm happy to announce the agenda of the 6th EasyBuild User Meeting, which will take place fully online during the week of Jan 25-29 2021.

This is an open meeting, anyone interested in (some of) the talks that are planned is welcome to join us!

We do ask you to *register* your attendance however, so we can assess how crowded the virtual room may get for the different sessions...

Talks will be held *live* via Zoom, attendees are welcome to join the Zoom call to facilitate interactive Q&A and discussions.

All presentations will also be live streamed and recorded via the EasyBuild YouTube channel [1].

All details are available via https://easybuild.io/eum .

(and yes, the easybuild.io domain is new!)

Things will definitely be a bit different for this edition of the EasyBuild User Meeting, but we do stick to covering the broad range of topics, including:

- CernVM-FS;
- ReFrame;
- Gentoo Prefix;
- the European Environment for Scientific Software Installations (EESSI);
- building Singularity containers with EasyBuild;
- the PRACE Best Practices Guide;
- Lmod;
- XALT;
- Magic Castle;
- the BLAS-like Library Instantiation Software Framework (BLIS);
- the LearnHPC project;
- Cluster-in-the-Cloud;
- buildtest;
- Lmodule;
- Spack;

Next to these presentations, we'll also have the traditional "EasyBuild State of the Union" talk, as well as several "EasyBuild site presentations", this time by:

- Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC);
- Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS);
- University of Birmingham;
- LuxProvide;
- the ITER project;
- AstraZeneca;

The full agenda is available at https://easybuild.io/eum/#agenda .

More information on registration is available at https://easybuild.io/eum/#registration .

Next to the 22 presentations, there are also two tutorials, which consist of multiple short sessions which are spread over the week: one on CernVM-FS (https://easybuild.io/eum/#cvmfs-tutorial), one on ReFrame (https://easybuild.io/eum/#reframe-tutorial).

Available seats for these tutorials is limited due to practical considerations (hands-on exercises, provided cloud resources, etc.).

Note that you need to register separately if you want to attend these tutorials!

As always, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have...

Looking forward to making the best of a virtual user meeting,
hopefully we can catch up on the social aspect in 2022!

regards,

Kenneth
