Hi Jonathan, This is a a bit odd. Could you check what the following returns?
eb --show-full-config |grep -E '(umask|writable|read-only)' Also, what does “umask” return for the user running EasyBuild? I do recall something like this cropping up before, and it is usually related to having set read-only-installdir, a weird umask crop up, or a filesystem not being friendly. Does the same happen if you build to a local disk on /tmp or similar? I started with a clean directory, so this is all stuff that EasyBuild has made and is then trying to copy over. This happens with lots of versions of foss, (2020a,b, 2019b), always with MPC (but bison, flex, m4 all make successfully before this failure). I did try chmodding everything before reinstalling, but that didn't help, and I've been unable to find any solutions online. The full log is attached. Any suggestions would be most welcome!
