Hi,

I just asked the main GPAW developer about this one. Yes, there is one
advanced feature in the code that requires stuff in ASE that is not yet in the
released version of ASE. We really hope that a new version will be released
within a few weeks, they just held a hackathon to get stuff ready.

As a temporary workaround, your user can check out the master branch of ASE,
and point PYTHONPATH to it. That should work. There may be minor issues in
the master branch of ASE related to integration with other DFT codes than GPAW,
but everything should be working just fine with GPAW.

We are sorry about this mess.
