POSITION: TEACHER'S AIDE - English/Social Studies

CLASS: V

REPORTS TO: HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

WORK LOCATION: HIGH SCHOOL, CILANDAK CAMPUS




PURPOSE




Under the direction and supervision of the High School Principal, the
Teacher's Aide is responsible for assisting the English and Social
Studies
Departments, based primarily in C and H modules. The Teacher's Aide
is
evaluated jointly by the Social Studies and English Department
Chairpersons.





QUALIFICATIONS




1. Indonesian citizen

2. High school graduate, College graduate is preferable

3. Work experience in a similar type of position

4. Fluent in written and spoken English

5. Computer skills including MS Windows and Office Suite (Word,
Excel,
Outlook)

6. Good organizational skills, sense of priorities and time
management

7. Understands and carries out oral and written directions




DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




1. Communicates regularly and effectively with the teaching
faculty.

2. Is available for duties at all times during the work-day and
when
set tasks have been completed shows initiative in finding additional
duties.
Daily duties include:

* At the beginning of each day to pick up documents for
photocopying
and instructions for other errands from H and C modules.

* Returning photocopying to H and C modules in the afternoon and
completing other tasks for teachers.
* Collating & Stapling according to page number or as
stipulated.
* Fetching warehouse supplies as indicated by teachers.
* Preparing and collecting resources from the AV room for
teachers,
including:

- Overhead transparencies.

- TV, VCR, DVD, cassette player/recorder.

- Laminating and binding books.

- Copying videos, tapes.

* Checking stationery stock regularly: lined paper (for daily
test &
exam), A4 paper (for printing in center module), index cards,
envelopes.
* Taking telephone messages and putting in writing if the
teacher is
not available.
* Arranging for booklets to be made.
* Returning and fetching other equipment and books to and from
classrooms as required.
* Reporting problems or delays to teacher/Head of Department.
* Preparing and organizing forms, (e.g. supplies form, AV
order, work
order, local purchase order; photocopy slip).
* Following up work orders.
* Tidying central module workspace/stairwells/bulletin boards.
* Translating English to Bahasa Indonesia or vice versa.
* Completing secretarial tasks, including computer word
processing,
scanning, spreadsheets, MS Word and Excel, Power Point and Internet
work.
* Filing
* Handling Stock, including checking new arrivals, recording,
comparing with purchase order, stamping and cataloguing, storing and
reporting progress and anomalies to Head of Department; liaison with
Purchasing Department.
* Updating inventories of stock
* Organizing catalogues.
* Liaising with library staff as needed.

3. Learns and applies pertinent JIS policies, rules and
regulations
with good judgment in a variety of situations.

4. Establishes and maintains cooperative, positive
relationships with
those involved in the course of their work.

5. Performs any other work that may be assigned by the
supervisor



Other: JIS employees will be given priority.
