Ebox is mostly a frontend, so your question is that openldap (used by
ebox) is capable of authenticating linux workstations.
If I'm OK, take a look at libpam_ldap and libnss_ldap. For example:

is a good start.

No. NFS is currently not part of eBox as far as I know.

Unfortunately I cannot answer the rest, I don't use those part of ebox yet.
