Hi Ahmed.

If you have really lost your /var directory, I would try to recover from
the latest backup.

If your /var directory is mounted in a different partition, it could
happen that it is just not mounted now and thus you would be seeing only
/var/lock and /var/run. Check if your mounts are ok.

If someone really deleted the whole /var directory and you don't have a
backup, you've mostly lost all your services data (including, but not
limited to samba users and computer registration, LDAP data, apt and
dpkg data, logs, email, mysql...). In this case, I would suggest a whole
reinstallation from scratch.
