Hi Jose!,

as you might know, we are working in a set of new services to be offered on eBox.

Having that in mind, the reason to include anacron in eBox is twofold:

On the one hand, to offer info in the dashboard such as new features or security problems: "1.2.x with eBackup", "Urgent update: 1.2.x fixes an important security issue!"

On the other hand, as some of these services needs an infrastructure, to know the number of eBoxes out there allow us to make estimations. Example: remote data backup.

Please let me know if you have any other doubt. Thanks.

Regards,
javivázquez

Hello!

We have noticed anacron being present in our test system builds lately,
and we have found that ebox package now depends on anacron.

We wouldn't like to start having anacron installed on production systems
(unless a good reason exists of course).

I am interested about why such a change was added / what purpose does it
serve.

Thank you and best regards.
