We are using KVM with the convirt tool and only Hardware virtualisation. Then start your vnc-client and the display appears at your local Desktop no matter of the screen resolution of your KVM-Server. If the Server is not at your local LAN I suggest to use the free-NX implementation at the Server and NoMachines NX-Client at your local Desktop with very high performance.
