Thank you very much Javier.

In fact, is it possible to configure static IP route from ebox firewall?

Also, anyone has comparer eBox with Endian firewall (community version) before? I was thinking to replace my Endin firewall with ebox. But I am not 100% ebox has the same log reporting tool and VPN system in Endian. I have heard that it is lack of lots of features freely buddle with ebox. But nice to hear some comments from experts :)

Thanks for all and everything.

Hello Thejan,
i will try to answer your questions

a) I suggest you to read the announcements and change logs, so you can
decide for yourself if the newer versions have features you want . If you want to upgrade you cna follow this procedure (copeid from
eBox's website) :

Go to software -> system updates. Select libebox and click on the button
located at bottom of the page. By upgrading libebox you will force the
rest
of the modules and ebox to be upgraded too. After a few minutes your
eBox
will be updated. Now you will be able to install the traffic shaping
module
and ebox-software from software -> eBox components. Do not do this
before
upgrading libebox!!

b) currently you can not write the backup directly to other mediums than
the hard disks and DVDs. However, you can do the backup and download it
to another hard drive using the eBox's UI.

c) currently we haven't any report of disk usage in the web interface.
However, in th command line you can type 'df -h' to have a quick report
d) for partitions you can ause the 'df -h [partition]' command , for
directories you can try the 'du -ch [directory]' command.

Cheers,
  Javier

Hi There,

I am afraid I have few questions.

A) I am using eBox version 0.8.99, Do you need to upgrade to 0.9? and how?

B) I need to backup and remove some older data from the ebox fileserver. I have my external 250Gb USB HDD, (I have not plugged it in or used it - its brand new), but how would I backup/archive data from the ebox file server to the USB HDD?

C) Also is there a way to see disk utilisation from within the ebox control panel? if not what my options?

D) I would be good to know which partitions / folders had the most data so we can prioritise going through those folders first and removing data. Is there a handy tool for doing that?

Hope someone can help me please?

Thanks in advance,

Thejan Mendis
