A simple answer to your main question is I don't know, however I've
installed eBox on a cobalt system which required a special kernel image, and
also doesn't have any normal installation methods. I accomplished this by
first installing a very basic Debian (not etch), and then installing eBox
via apt-get. It was kind of tricky, but in the end it installed just fine,
and is running very well as a file server/domain controller for a mid-sized
company.
In your case, the biggest problem I would see is the limits placed on your
drive situation. I would suggest looking into something with a smaller foot
print like FreeNAS <http://www.freenas.org/>.
